One winter, sixteen sites

I wrote the proposal for a forestry contractor's dashcam program, then delivered it across 16 sites in Canada and the US over one winter.

156Units completed
31Mid-project cancellations absorbed

The problem

Straight trucks, tractors and trailers spread across sites in two countries, with installs that had to fit a December-to-March window. The scope grew from 100 camera sets at 14 locations to 173 assets at 16, about 700 estimated install hours.

What I did

I was the named proposal manager, so the plan was mine from the first page:

  • Scope of work: problem summary, requirements, platform, a per-location install-duration table, six assumptions, ten risks, schedule, pricing and payment terms, seven acceptance criteria and the sign-off.
  • Project plan: a per-asset install register with status tracking, a per-location hours model, a weekly grid, and fulfilment, tracking and invoicing columns.
  • After go-live: a service repairs tracker, idling scorecards and quarterly business reviews.

The result

156 units completed over one winter, each on a three-year subscription, despite 31 cancellations and 5 no-shows along the way.
